Expektoration Feat. Big Benn Klingon

Gold Dust

Expektoration Feat. Big Benn Klingon is the enigmatic rapper MF Doom’s newest release, comprised of his live performance in New York (the artist’s hometown).   Expektoration feels like a live album should, and the listener can really feel MF Doom’s innate ability to get the crowd moving.  For those who don’t know MF Doom, he is one of underground hip-hop’s most prolific acts, having collaborated with a nearly complete whos-whos list of the genre over his eleven years performing.  The album is divided into three parts, consisting of two acts and a “Star Trek” klingon-themed intermission (MF Doom employing his geek cred).  Each act lasts close to thirty minutes and includes a wide variety of the artist’s favorite tracks over the years (the first act focusing on 2004’s Mm.. Food and the Madlib collaboration Madvilliany with the second act drawing from MF Doom’s first release, Operation: Doomsday).  And, if you listen really closely, you can even catch the crowd singing along with every song he performs.
