No Name No Color

Middle Class Rut

No Name No Color

Bright Antenna

Based out of Sacramento, Middle Class Rut is an up and coming hard rock group (verging on metal).   I was lucky enough to see this duo in their early days as the opener for a Sacramento Dredg concert.  They stood out then, and as over they thrashed throughout the night they became the shows unexpected but lovely surprise, and I ended walking out with a copy of their EP (all of the songs from the EP are included in the album).  Despite consisting of only two members, Sean Stockham and Zack Lopez, Middle Class Rut exhibits a fuller sound than most four or five man acts out there through the strength Stockham’s excellent and frantic drumming with Lopez’s distorted yet still melodic guitar thrashin’ (both band members sing the vocals, often trading off and echoing eachother).  No Name No Color marks the band’s first full-length album, and is an excellent example of what’s best in modern, hard rock.
