Le Chemin

Jessica Fichot’s Le Chemin is perfectly French.  The traditional French-pop instrumentation, Fichot’s angelic voice and its hint of international flavor all comes together to create an image satisfyingly representative of Paris.  I mean, I’ve never been to Paris, but Fichot’s Le Chemin is the soundtrack I’d want in the background of an afternoon stroll through Champs-Élysées.  The French lyrics, while foreign to me, sound even more Romantic than they already are rolling off Fichot’s tongue.  Unexpectedly, the album itself was not born on French soil, but rather from our own Los Angeles hub.  It was there Fichot brought a taste of her hometown and country into her creations.  Le Chemin will be her second full-length release, and with it she shows all the harmonic maturity of all her established contemporaries.  It’s a worthy international find.
